Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

There is a lot going on in my mind at the moment, mostly hating + irritating thoughts which I'd like to share with you and get off my chest....
  • I'm really hating people that think the world owes them something! No names mentioned for obvious reasons, but yesterday I went to a local cafe and was greeted with the most unpleasant customer service ever. This oke (manager and all) seriously needed a crash course on how to treat customers or to just get another job. I mean hello, we are paying you for good food + good service! Anyway needless to say I will NEVER EVER be returning to said cafe again!
  • People that don't take action! A million ideas in front of you, all you need is one step (teeny tiny is fine) but at least freakin' do something.
  • People who don't challenge themselves (especially in the gym). A case of 'Oh I've been pushing 2kg for the last year and I really don't know why I'm not losing weight or getting rid of my bingo wings'. People, people, people if you don't challenge your body how is it ever going to change?!?!
  • The blame game! Ok so the amp in the gym broke this morning and yes you can almost hear a pin drop today, but that doesn't mean you need to take it out on me just because you can't workout without music! Maybe try something different today, listen to your body, have a calming workout etc. but don't blame the gym for you not pushing yourself and having a good workout.
  • Moan moan moan, ladies Moanday was yesterday not today. If you moan you make it ten times worse!
Ok so yeah so that's about it. Me thinks I need a good workout today to get rid of the built up anger inside me. Boxing anyone???

What are your intentions?

It's almost the beginning of July and you know what that means, don't ya? 6 months left of 2013. Yup only 6 months, I cannot believe how crazy fast this year has gone, saying Happy New Year on Venice beach felt like just yesterday. So with that I want to ask you all these two v. important questions....

Have you set the intention for the next 6 months?

What are you hoping to achieve by the 1st January 2014?

If the first 6 months of 2013 weren't exactly a chapter out of your dream life novel then it's time to assess what went wrong and then to highlight what went right and what you enjoyed. The latter will help you in determining what you want to do more of in the coming months.

The choice is really yours, how you want the rest of the year to pan out is totally up to you! I promise you! And by setting your intentions it's almost a gurantee that it will turn out exactly as you had wanted.

When setting your intentions ask yourself what do I want to be, to have and do in the next 6 months. Do you want to start doing yoga classes? run 10km? pay off all your debts? go to Thailand? start a business? grow your business? take that awesome course? Take time to really think about what it is you want, you can do it all in one sitting (if you have the mental clarity) but if you are like me and, this is honestly what I do, I've got a notebook and everytime I think of something I want I write it down in my book. That way I've built up quite a list for the next 6 months and I know that everything on my list is true to how I want the rest of my 2013 to play out. If you are having trouble adding intentions to your list think of people you are jealous of, what is it that they have that you want? You've got it in you to have it so why not go for it now.

Another question to ask yourself when choosing your goals/intentions is why do I want this? What feeling is this going to give me?

I'm going to share my intentions with you because the more you tell people the more the Universe will conspire in your favour to bring what you want into your life. So here goes....

My goals for the next 6 months....

1. To be featured in Women's Health magazine - whether it's an article I write or a feature piece on me
2. To get more involved in my blog - have 300 likes on facebook and 200 on twitter. To write, write and write more on my blog. Find my fitness niche and gain a bigger local following. \
3. Gain my Pilates qualification and start a class twice a week in Howick
4. Run a trail half-marathon (time to still be determined)
5. Get my Personal training name known in Midlands area + get 10 committed clients a week who continue on a monthly basis
6. Start my own Recess! bootcamps + brial personal training services
7. Get involved in mountain biking, buy a bike first, go on rides every saturday morning
8. Keep in touch with my family, weekly emails + updates + messages

What are you waiting for? Don't let 2013 and your goals pass you by! Drop a comment in the box below and let me know what your intention is for the rest of the year.

Remember to take a step towards your goal every single day.

SOUL SISTAS: Carlee Modra of The Tree of Life

1. Tell us where you are in your life right now (in your perspective) + what your intention is for the rest of 2013.
Right now I am in a place of growth.  I have so much expansion happening in my life right now, that is pushing me way outside of my comfort zone, and I am loving every minute of it. I am learning to own me.  2013 I just want to grow and expand even more.  I want to know myself at the deepest level, I want to feel my true essence.  I really feel like I am ready to go to that place. Something that has scared the bajeezus out of me in the past.

2. What fuels you to do what you do?
My desire to help.  I have always been one to try and ‘fix’ things, but now I realise I am not here to fix people, I am here to help people realise there own greatness, so they can be who they truly be.  I think the first step in this process is working on the physical level – health, wellness, then moving to a more energetic level.

3. What is the best advice you have been given?
To own who you are.  To accept every part of you, and be that person.  Love yourself.  For when you truly love who you are, your whole world changes.

4. They say 'You are what you're attracted to'. So tell me who inspires you and why?
Oh, I don’t even know where to start.  I am inspired by so many people.  Mostly I am inspired by women who have overcome some sort of difficulty in their life (whether it be addictions, health issues or some other trauma) and have turned it all around in a way that they are now helping others. I believe that is what we are all here to do, share and heal together.

5. How do you overcome the inner critic in you?
That’s ongoing, as it something that is always there, but I now have the awareness to know where that voice is coming from.  It’ssimply a place of fear, and I just do my best to transmute that fear into love.

6. DREAM BIG: Where do you want your blog + business to take you? I want my blog and business to show the world me.  I’m not going to hide behind a faux personality, and I will stand up for what I believe in.  I want to use my voice to help others to make positive change in their own lives.  I want to be location independent, and free to work around my children.  They are my number one priority.

7. How did you come to the healthy path + what does it mean to you?

My journey to wellness has been a long one, and started out on the complete opposite direction.   A life of alcohol, drugs and partying.  It wasn’t until I became a Mum that my life really started to change.  Wellness to me is about being healthy on all levels.  Body, Mind and Spirit.  I believe even the most perfect diet in the world is not going to stop disease if the mind is sick.

8. How do you give thanks to your body everyday?
By eating good quality food.  I don’t eat junk, and I my house is free of toxins.

9. What do you LOVE?
My Family. Life. Yoga. Great Food. Vegie Juices. Books. Herbs.

10. When the going gets tough, how do you keep yourself going?
I take time for myself. I take deep breaths and I meditate. I make sure I take the time to honour what I am feeling. I think it is so important to let whatever emotions you are feeling in that moment to come to the surface.  Surpressing emotions creates disease.

Woman of the decade!

Bit of a different post today but what the hell, this blog is about all the things I love so why not?!?

Ok so I have a confession to make, I'm a Victoria Beckham fan (one of the those rare ones) and have been ever since the Spice Girls first started. I love everything about her, yes even that famous pout of hers. So I was even more excited when I read that last night she was named Woman of the decade by Glamour magazine, wow what an achievement!

If you're not convinced she deserved it, like many of the annoying peeps on Twitter(grrr I've spent the last 10 minutes reading some very irritating tweets!), then let me list several reasons why I think she does and you can take it from there....

1. She isn't clutching to the Spice Girl reunion like some of the others (ie Geri Haliwell, honey you left the band! why are you back?) and hoping that it's going to keep her in the lime light and make her more moola ($$$).

2. She is one determined cookie + passionate about what she does. After the Spice Girls she went into fashion and really made a name for herself, now everyone wants to wear a VB dress. From Beyonce to Jessica Ennis!

3. She isn't like all the other silly British women celebs, getting pissed and falling out of clubs!

4. She loves her family and would do anything for them.

5. She stuck by her husband even though he had an affair

6. She always looks so put together and glamorous

7. She has stayed true to herself even though there are a million people out there that slate her every single day

8. She is out there living her dreams and empowering women!

5 ways you can be happier right now..

Today the School of Life taught me several little ways in which I could be happier right here and right now and I'd love to share them with you....

1. From Gillian Michaels - If it isn't uncomfortable you aren't changing + growing or becoming any better! In order for you to get the results and the desired life you have to step outside of your comfort zone and face your fears.

2. You have no control over love, if you judge your worthiness by how much people love you then you will never be satisfied. The only love that matters is the love you give away and the love you give yourself. You have infinite capacity to love!

3. Everything is in your head! Everyone is too worried about themselves to have time to worry about you!

4. You can't replace the friends you left behind but you can make new friends that are just as SUPER COOL! Value what you have and you will attract more relationships with the same great qualities.

5. Find something you are passionate about and shout it from the roof tops. You're passionate about it for a reason - to share it with those that need you!

What did the School of Life teach you today?
