As a blogger or website owner possibly the most challenging thing you will ever have to do is come up with a pile of words that represent you and your business. It’s a dreaded page because talking about yourself can be difficult (for some) and putting your whole life story into one page can be quite tricky. Anyway last night I put my About Page on my list of things to do today and I am proud to say that I have ticked it off, not absolutely once and for all but definitely for the time being.

Here are the resources & tricks that kicked my butt into action, perhaps they may do just the same for you…
The Brand Alchemist
This was my ultimate kick starter and without it I really wouldn’t have known what to say. I did the free test ages and ages ago but because it was so accurate it stuck in the back of my mind and I knew that the day would come when I would use it again. According to the test I am a Sage – always questioning, a life long learner and a teacher. Nail on the head!
Take a look at your bookshelf, closet & desk
This morning I cranked a few tunes while I had a look at the books I love, the colours in my closet and the magazines that litter my desk. I found fields of green in my closet, The Desire Map next to my bed and stacks and stacks on Women’s Health in the lounge. What you buy and allow to occupy your time ultimately shapes who you are so there is no denying that I’m a spiritual, health conscious green loving woman.
Question yourself
Wow some of these are brain teasers. I found myself mulling over some of these questions for ages with not a decent thing to write. A few challenging questions will help you explore exactly who you are and what you want from your business or blog.
What brought you to this moment?
What interests me most is where someone has come from, where they’ve been, what they’ve experienced and who they are from it. In my About Page I touched on my frustration with a year long non stop relationship with my computer, romance in Paris, love bringing me home and life having other plans for me.
Here are some other handy links that helped me along the way…
Creativity can be messy.
It’s not really about you.
Infuse it with you.
A big. bold opening statement.
Drop a comment in the below and let me know what you think of my newly revamped About Page or if you’d like some help coming up with some crafty words to describe yourself.
So happy that our post could help. Your About page tells your story beautifully. (PS. PARIS! How cool.)
Thanks Krystle.
Thanks so much for the shout-out to my post on revamping your about page. Yours is faaaaabulous, dahling! I love that you share so much of your backstory…specific details…and I love your use of fonts and styling to break it up and make it easy to read. High five!
My pleasure! Thank you so much for encouraging comments x
